General Guidelines
Bitch Flicks publishes film and television reviews and analyses from a feminist perspective, with a focus on intersectionality. We also consider posts that discuss filmmakers and analyze the marketing of film and television.
If you would like to be considered to be a guest writer or write for a Theme Week, please e-mail a brief proposal to btchflcks[at]gmail[dot]com with the subject line “Submission.” Describe your proposed piece, and include links and/or attachments to writing samples, if possible.
We accept both original pieces and cross-posts, and we respond to queries within a week.
Most of our pieces are between 1,000 and 2,000 words, and include links and images. You will be provided with a Contributor Guide for further instructions and style guidelines.
Please be familiar with our publication, and look over recent and popular posts to get an idea of Bitch Flicks’s style and purpose.
Theme Weeks
Every month, we publish reviews and feminist commentary surrounding a specific theme. Our upcoming themes for the rest of the year are listed below. We publish our official Call for Writers at the beginning of each month, but feel free to submit a query in advance if a particular theme appeals to you.
Email us your submissions to be considered for publication (original pieces or cross-posts).
We welcome cross-posts, and will include a link to the original post with your byline.
