Wow, Lead Actress in a Comedy Series deserves to be a six-way tie… how are they going to pick just one of those incredibly talented women? Even given profoundly mediocre material (*cough*MikeandMolly*cough*), they knock it out the park.
This doesn’t really relate that much, but for some reason I woke up today thinking about how the Emmy’s never honored Roseanne, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or The Wire with any awards and very few, if any, nominations. (I think Buffy was nominated for the episode “Hush” … but I can’t remember any more it received.) Similarly, The Wire might’ve been nominated for a writing award toward the end. Regardless, the three of these shows were so ahead of their time and were much more progressive than anything I’ve seen currently airing on TV. What gives? Do we need an Independent Spirit Awards for Television?
